Dyspraxia Awareness Week - Making Sense of It All

24th- 30th September 2007

This September, the Dyspraxia Foundation – which will be marking its 20th anniversary this year - will be holding a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the condition that affects up to six percent of the UK population and which you do not simply 'grow out of'.

The campaign will provide a strong media package to help educate the public, education and health professionals alike as to the signs and symptoms of dyspraxia and the support for the many people who live with the condition every day.

To ensure the Foundation's Awareness Week and 20th anniversary celebrations are a great success, we really need help from people who are willing talk to the media about their personal experiences of the condition. Whether you are an adult living with Dyspraxia, or you are the parent/guardian of a child with the condition, Trinity PR, working together with the Dyspraxia Foundation, would love to hear from you.

Case studies are central to this year’s week-long campaign - 'Dyspraxia – making sense of it all'. The experiences of real people help to bring news stories 'to life', allowing the media to gain a real insight and appreciation of the impact Dyspraxia can have.

Whether it's taking part in an interview for national TV, a women's consumer magazine, a website or even your local newspaper, case studies can really help the public to understand the issues and, in turn, encourage them to take action, i.e. donate money/volunteer/seek help.

If this sounds like something you would be keen to help with, please contact us.

There will be various events in the autumn to mark the awareness week and the 20th anniversary celebrations.

Project Finance Ball

Tuesday, 11th September

The Foundation has successfully bid to benefit from this prestigious event to be held at the Old Billingsgate Market; one of the highlights of the City's financial calendar year. We are currently seeking several unique auction prizes together with as many 'run of the mill' prizes as we can manage for the night at which all proceeds will be donated to the Foundation. This represents the most significant opportunity that The Foundation has ever had in raising its profile amongst such an influential guest list so any help would be much appreciated. If you can provide or suggest a prize for this auspicious event, please contact National Fundraiser, Andrew Coutts
